The Cecil County Board of REALTORS®, established in 1959, has a responsibility to enhance the ability and opportunity of its members to conduct their business successfully and ethically, and to promote the preservation of the right to own, transfer, and use real property through:
Representing its members in all real estate specialties
Supporting a legislative and legal environment which is favorable to its members
Providing opportunities for professional growth through education
Communicating informative news and market trends
REALTORS® established their Code of Ethics in 1913 and it has survived as a viable and relevant guide because it is a living document. As times have changed, new needs and insights have been recognized and as the law has developed, the Code has been amended as necessary to keep pace with the changing real estate profession. With all the amendments, the philosophical premise of the code has remained unchanged in promoting the highest level of integrity and fair business practices. The Code of Ethics offers to REALTORS® the lessons of hindsight, the guidance of foresight and the understanding of insight – A Rare Gift of Vision.
